Metal Buildings

Metal buildings provide a durable, versatile solution for storage, workshops, commercial use, agricultural needs, and more. At Redemption Steel, our buildings are constructed using high-quality American steel designed for long-term strength and performance.

Our standard metal buildings feature a 14-gauge steel frame paired with 29-gauge steel paneling to create a strong and dependable structure. For customers looking for added durability and structural strength, we also offer an upgrade to 12-gauge steel, which is approximately 38% thicker than standard framing.

Whether you need a secure place to store vehicles, extra space for equipment, a workshop, or a small storage building to reduce clutter, we can help design a metal building that fits your needs.

Metal Buildings vs Metal Garages

What Is The Difference?

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there are some important differences.

A metal building is a broader category that typically includes larger structures designed for residential, agricultural, and commercial use. Metal buildings are commonly used for warehouses, business facilities, workshops, equipment storage, barns, and multi purpose spaces because they offer greater size flexibility and customization options.

A metal garage is a specific type of metal building that is usually smaller and designed primarily for vehicle storage, workshops, or personal use.

If you need a structure that offers more space and can support a wider range of uses including commercial applications, a metal building is often the better choice. Whether you are storing vehicles, housing equipment, expanding your business, or creating additional workspace, metal buildings provide a durable and versatile solution.

Metal Building Sizes

Metal buildings can be customized in a wide range of sizes to fit your needs. Our smaller building options start at 12 feet wide by 20 feet long, making them a great solution for storage, workshops, and smaller projects.

For larger applications, our standard sizing options extend up to 40 feet wide, with width adjustments available in 2 foot increments to help create the right fit for your property and intended use.

When it comes to length, the possibilities are even greater. We can build metal buildings up to 1,000 feet long depending on site conditions and available level ground, with length customization available in 5 foot increments.

If your project requires a building wider than 40 feet, custom engineering may be required and additional processing time may apply.

This flexibility allows metal buildings to serve everything from personal storage and workshops to larger commercial and agricultural applications.

Prefabricated Metal Buildings

Prefabricated metal buildings offer a faster and more economical alternative to traditional construction. Each building is designed with pre-manufactured components that allow for quicker delivery and installation. Whether you need a garage, workshop, storage building, or commercial structure, our prefabricated metal buildings provide durability, affordability, and a streamlined construction process.

Metal Building Roof Types

When it comes to metal buildings and their roof styles, there are only three options: regular roofs, boxed eave (A-frame) roofs, and vertical roofs.

Regular Roof Style

The regular roof style is a classic, budget-friendly option. It features a simple horizontal design that is easy to install and maintain. This option works well in milder climates and provides reliable coverage, but may not shed rain or snow as efficiently as other roof styles.

Boxed Eave A-Frame Roof

The A-Frame (Boxed Eave) roof style is more durable and visually appealing than the regular roof. It features a triangular shape that enhances the carports structural integrity while adding a more finished look. This design is better at shedding rain and snow, making it a good choice for areas with moderate to heavy precipitation.

Vertical Roof

The vertical roof is the most durable and weather-resistant option available. The panels run vertically along the roof, allowing rain, snow, and debris to slide off easily. This roof style is ideal for areas with heavy snow, wind, or rain, as it minimizes the risk of build-up and increases the longevity of the structure.

Framing Options For Metal Buildings

Choosing the right frame is one of the most important decisions when purchasing a metal building. Your framing system impacts the strength, durability, and long-term performance of your building. At Redemption Steel, we offer two reliable options to fit your needs and budget.

Tubular Steel Framing

Tubular steel framing is a cost-effective and durable option commonly used in metal buildings. It provides strong structural support while helping keep your project affordable. This framing system is ideal for a wide range of applications, including residential and commercial metal buildings, carports, workshops, and light- to medium-duty structures.

Benefits of Having a Metal Building?

Benefits of a metal building include a durable, fully enclosed structure that provides enhanced security and privacy compared to open structures. Metal buildings offer long-term value with low maintenance requirements, customizable design options, and versatile use for storage, workshops, commercial spaces, and more. They also feature faster installation compared to traditional construction, making them a practical and efficient building solution.

Is a Metal Building Easy to Maintain?

Yes! Metal Buildings are incredibly easy to maintain, especially when constructed with durable materials like steel. To keep your metal building in good condition, simply perform occasional inspections and clean the roof and sides to remove debris. In coastal areas with saltwater exposure, occasional rust prevention touch-ups may be needed. Beyond that, your metal building will require minimal maintenance and will provide you with years of reliable service.

Do I Need a Permit to Install?

Permit requirements vary by location. It is the customer's responsibility to contact your local county or city officials to determine whether a permit is required before purchasing your structure.

We're happy to provide any specifications or documentation you may need during the process.

Can A Metal Building Be Wired For Electricity

Yes, metal buildings can be wired for electricity to support lighting, tools, and equipment.

However, any modifications to your structure could affect your warranty. It is always best to verify with the manufacturer warranty before making any changes.

How to Prepare for Your Install?

To ensure a smooth and efficient installation of your metal building, the installation site must be level within 3 inches. For best results, we recommend preparing a concrete or gravel pad that is slightly larger than the overall footprint of your structure. For example, if your metal building measures 18' x 20', a pad size of approximately 18.5' x 20.5' helps ensure a proper fit and prevents the structure from sitting too close to the edge.

We also require a minimum of 3 feet of clearance around the entire steel building to allow our installation team to work safely and efficiently during construction.

We offer concrete and building combo packages to help simplify your project and ensure your metal building has a proper foundation. Because site preparation and installation timing can vary, we recommend calling our team to discuss your project details so we can help coordinate the best setup for your build.

Proper metal building site preparation is essential to avoid installation delays, ensure structural accuracy, and deliver a durable, long-lasting result.
